# Shopify to OpenAI Ads installation guide
See the steps to connect your Shopify store to OpenAI Ads with Littledata.
In this guide, we'll explain how to connect your Shopify store to the OpenAI Ads destination.

The OpenAI Ads connection is in beta and open to invited stores only.
Before you start, make sure you can sign in to Ads Manager and that your account has passed business verification. Verification can take a few days.

**Add the destination**
From the Littledata dashboard, click **Add destination**.

**Connect OpenAI Ads**
Find the OpenAI Ads destination and click **Connect**.
On the next screen, click **Continue**.

**Choose your tracking preferences**
Select your tracking preferences, then click **Continue**. The recommended option, **Use best practices**, is already selected.

**Add your Pixel ID and Conversions API key**
Enter the **Pixel ID** of a new data source and a **Conversions API key**. The next step shows where to find them.

**Find your Pixel ID and Conversions API key**
In Ads Manager:
1. Expand **Tools** in the left sidebar and click **Conversions**.
2. Create a new web data source for Littledata (for example, name it "Littledata") and copy its **Pixel ID**. Use a new data source even if you already have one (see step 6).
3. On the same page, click the key icon at the top right (**Manage conversion keys**), then click **Create new key**.\

4. Name the key, click **Create**, and copy it right away. You may not be able to see it again.
Paste both values into Littledata and click **Continue**.

Don't use an API key from **Settings**. That key manages campaigns and spend. Littledata only needs a Conversions API key.

**Avoid duplicate tracking**
If you use OpenAI's ChatGPT Ads app for Shopify, keep it installed for your product feed. Give Littledata the new Pixel ID from step 5, not the one the app uses. If another app sends purchases to OpenAI Ads, keep it on its own Pixel ID or turn off its purchase tracking.

If two apps send purchases to the same Pixel ID, each purchase can be counted twice.

Don't uninstall OpenAI's ChatGPT Ads app for Shopify to fix this. It syncs your product feed, and campaigns that use that feed may pause or stop updating.

After you finish, tick **No other app sends purchases to this Pixel ID** and click **Continue**.

**Finish the connection**
The OpenAI Ads connection is now live on your store. Click **Continue to dashboard**.

Results show in Ads Manager only after you attach a conversion event. See the next section.

## Attach a conversion event in Ads Manager
In Ads Manager, create a conversion event for **Order Created** that uses your Littledata data source, then attach it to your campaigns. To report on other events too, create one conversion event for each. See [How to create conversion events in OpenAI Ads](/integrations/chatgpt-ads/create-conversion-events.md). Results only count from the moment you attach it. Conversions can take 24 to 48 hours to show in Ads Manager.
