# Shopify to TikTok installation guide

Follow these steps to connect your Shopify store to TikTok with Littledata. You'll copy your pixel ID and an access token from TikTok Ads Manager and paste them into the Littledata app.

### Before you start

* Access to the Littledata app for your Shopify store.
* Access to TikTok Ads Manager, with permission to manage the pixel you want to use and generate an access token for it.
* Permission to manage apps in your Shopify admin, so you can turn off other TikTok tracking.

### Connect TikTok in the Littledata app

### Add the destination

In the Littledata app, click **Add destination**. A list of destinations opens under **Available in your plan**.

### Connect TikTok

Find **TikTok** in the list and click **Connect**. You'll see the **Connect your store to TikTok** screen. Click **Continue**.

### Choose your tracking preferences

On **Set up your tracking**, keep **Use best practices** selected (it has a **Recommended** badge) and click **Continue**.

If you choose **Customize your tracking** instead, you'll first pick a product identifier and the events to send, clicking **Continue** after each screen.

### Open the Connect your TikTok pixel screen

You'll now see **Connect your TikTok pixel** with two fields: **Pixel code** and **Access token**. Keep this tab open and open TikTok Ads Manager in a new tab.

### Copy your keys from TikTok

### Open Events in TikTok Ads Manager

In TikTok Ads Manager, open **Tools** > **Events**. Under web events, open your pixel list (TikTok may label it **Manage** or **Data sources**).

### Select your pixel

Click the pixel you want Littledata to send data to. Copy the pixel ID shown at the top of the pixel page. It's a string of capital letters and numbers, for example `CHEAOO3C22U3D4AKHNNG`.

Paste it into **Pixel code** in the Littledata app.

### Generate an access token

Open the pixel's **Settings** tab. In the **Events API** section, click **Generate Access Token**. Copy the token.

Paste it into **Access token** in the Littledata app, then click **Continue**.

If you can't generate a token, ask the admin of your TikTok Business Center for access to the pixel.

### Turn off duplicate tracking

### Disconnect the TikTok sales channel pixel

On the **Disable other tracking apps** screen (marked **Action required**), click the **TikTok Sales Channel** link. It opens the TikTok app in your Shopify admin. Go to its data sharing section and disconnect your TikTok pixel.

### Turn off other TikTok tracking

If another app sends TikTok events from your store, uninstall it or turn off its TikTok tracking feature. Check that app's own help docs for how. Also remove any TikTok base code added to your theme by hand.

### Confirm and continue

Back in the Littledata app, tick **I have disabled all other tracking apps** and click **Continue**.

### Finish the connection

You'll see **Adding tracking** while Littledata applies its tracking to your TikTok pixel. When it's done, you'll see **You're connected! Here's where to go next.** Click **Skip to dashboard** to go back to the main page, or **Explore the event editor** to see the events you're sending.

If you leave before the end, the TikTok card shows **Pending setup**. Click **Continue** on the card to pick up where you left off.

### Check that it works

* In the Littledata app, the TikTok card shows a green **Connected** badge.
* To change your pixel code or token later, find the TikTok card, click the **⋯** menu on its card and choose **Settings**.
* In TikTok Ads Manager, open **Tools** > **Events** and select your pixel. New events should appear in its overview after people browse and buy on your store. This can take a few hours.
