Shopify to Segment installation guide

Littledata provides a Segment connection for Shopify and Shopify Plus. The app automatically fixes ecommerce tracking and lets you use Shopify as a Segment source. It automatically tracks key events and page views, and then sends that data to Segment.

How to install 'Segment.com by Littledata'

Step 1. Search for Littledata in the Shopify App Store. Select the Segment app.

Step 2. Begin the installation process by clicking on Install.

Step 3. Click on Install app.

Step 4. Complete the onboarding survey.

Step 5. Choose your plan and destination bundles.

Step 6. Approve the recurring charge.

After selecting your connections, click on ''Pay Now''. This will redirect you to Shopify to approve the recurring charge that will be applied after the end of your 30-day free trial.

Step 7. Create Source. Log into your Segment workspace, and add the Shopify (by  Littledata)source.

Step 8. You will need to add your Segment workshop write key. Follow this guide to find your write key, then enter it and hit NEXT.

A) Automatic route

Step 1. Select the Automatic route to add the tracking code automatically. The tracking code and Segment's analytics.js library will be automatically added to your store:

Installation is complete! You will now start receiving data from Shopify to Segment, including sales data and checkout steps:

B) Headless route

This route is suitable for headless stores with a custom front end.

Step 1. Add client-side tracking to your headless store.

Step 2. Applying webhooks.

During this step, Littledata adds a set of webhooks to your Shopify store that ensure our servers pick up the checkout steps and order events.

Installation complete

When the installation is successful you will see a confirmation page.

You will now be able to send data from Shopify to hundreds of Segment destinations. You can send data from Segment to Google Analytics by following the steps described here.*
